My normal Thursday morning schedule includes a 6:30am meeting with my friend, Adam. Among other things, he directs our church’s financial support to various missions, so that’s usually on the bill when we meet. He also loves coffee!
We usually jump from coffee shop to coffee shop, trying out different spots and tasting all the different blends around town. Today, we met at Java Monkey in downtown Decatur. It’s right off the train stop, so it was an easy ride for me. He lives a few blocks away. It’s all fair trade, which means they must be Coldplay fans, and the vibe is very Central Perk – couches, magazines, a consistent local customer base. It’s good. Real good.
Where is your favorite coffee shop?

In Cincinnati: either Awakenings or Front Porch
In Louisville: Heine Brothers
In Stow-on-the-Wold (England): Osborne & Ferridge
I’ll let you know if I find any good ones in Cheltenham (UK)–there are plenty to choose from.
Atlanta coffee shops have nothing on Stumptown and Dutch Bros in Portland, OR!!!!!
The Acoustic Coffeehouse in Johnson City, TN
Here in Prescott, AZ its a place called The Raven.
Java Monkey is one of my favourites. I live right around the corner from it!
