Manna

All I did was update my Facebook status. All I said was that I wanted a record player. The kind that spins underneath a small needle. You know the kind. And two days later…

On the schedule: That Buddy Rich record you see, U2’s Wide Awake in America, U2’s Under a Blood Red Sky, and some [...]

Rich, 1970

Just bought a two-record (vinyl) set of his old band. Now I just need a record player! Anyone? I dig on the old Slingerland, two floor tom kit with the solid no brand-on-the-cymbals, style. And what’s on the lower floor tom? Doesn’t seem to matter; this four minutes is pretty boss.

At the Hard Rock with the kids

SO YOU TELL ME WHAT TO BUY…

Once

I’m half-way through a movie called Once staring Glen Hansard fromĀ The FramesĀ & Marketa Irglova. Good movie. The music is great. I love The Frames. It’s like a Damien Rice meets David Gray meets Travis meets old-school Smiths flurts with Coldplay kind of vibe. I’m digging the movie…thanks Kyle & Regan for the loaner.

Heima

My good friend handed me a DVD set a couple of weeks ago that I’m just now getting around to watching. It’s called Heima, which is not an IKEA product, but close. It’s concert footage from 16 different Sigur Ros gigs in Iceland.
Two things:

Sigur Ros is cool

Icelandic people look cool
